While I was pregnant and searching for the right baby carrier (and ending up buying several different kinds for my husband and I) it was my mom who gave me the idea for the Kindersling.
I grew up in Munich, Germany, and my mother, Brigitte, had carried both my brother Alex and I in a handmade sling. There are actually old movies of my mom skiing with me wrapped warm and comfy in a sling under her ski jacket!
The
KinderSling sprang from my mom’s mind, but is the culmination of
many hours and countless iterations of slings. I can’t thank my
friends--new moms, newborns and toddlers included--who patiently helped
us experiment with different sling styles. Without their help and their
input, the KinderSling would not exist.
